eFARS Update!August 2008 AnnouncementseFARS is Open! The 2008 eFARS system opened August 1 . Faculty can begin work on their 2008 Annual Report. The Report Outline remains the same as last year with only a few minor changes within some report sections. Most changes were made in response to input from faculty users of the system. To review the 2008 changes, view the 6 minute long on-line presentation, "What's New in eFARS in 2008." Training Resources Available Two training presentations about the 2008 version of eFARS are available on the eFARS Help Desk web site. For experienced eFARS users, review changes made to eFARS for 2008, by viewing "What's New in eFARS in 2008." A second presentation is designed for new eFARS users. It is called "An Introduction to eFARS for First-Time Users " 2008 Annual Report Due Date All annual reports are due by midnight on Friday, January 16, 2009. Frequently Asked Questions What is the most efficient way to complete the eFARS report? We suggest two things. First print off a copy of the expanded Report Outline. It can be found on the eFARS Help Desk web site under "Resources." Viewing the expanded outline will enable you to quickly see all of the potential sections for which you may have information to input. Second, follow the suggested approach found under the "Instructions" section in the Report Outline. It is logical approach that should help you finish eFARS in a timely manner. When will the Extension Planning section be open? The Extension Planning section (section H.2. in the outline) will be open on or before November 1. At that time faculty can begin completing the Buy-in, Personal Action Plan and Unit Plan of Work components for 2009. How can I get help if I get stuck?
